Notes

The openfietsmap-lite style was used as the base for this implementation. In practice, the lite style produces smaller file-sizes and is less crowded. There currently is no plan to distribute a variant of the openfietsmap-full style.

To respect design-language of the original style, additional icons were designed to be consistent with what was already there.

Key Changes

Aggressive Filtering

The base style converts every building with a name into points of interest. The modified style adds filtering to all building tags to ensure only a subset of valid and relevant values make it onto the map.

Nodes with the generic building=yes and residential have all been removed (unless paired with additional tags like amenity or shop). A list of what I considered valid values can be found on the openstreetmap wiki.

Any nodes with gambling-related tags were removed on account of their illegality.

Districts considered less than a suburb were also removed. Without this, neighbourhoods and localities dominated the map-space while providing limited value to the user.
