Performance Optimisations

To improve rendering performance, all building and parking polygons have been filtered. This reduces the total map size by 1/3 and ensures medium to high-density areas can be rendered reasonably on handheld devices.

Convenience Stores

In addition to selling goods, convenience stores may have:

  1. ATMs
  2. Toilets
  3. Kitchenette/Eating Area (Uncommon)
  4. Usable Power Outlets (Uncommon)

As such, the prominence of convenience stores has been elevated through brand-specific icons and a fallback icon for unmatched stores. The fallback icon uses the Katakana コ taken from the first letter of the Japanese word for convenience store (コンビニ).

The primary religion of Japan is Shinto and Buddhism. To reflect this, icons for Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples have been added.
